With the ability to safely move a load after it has been raised, Reid gantries help eliminate unnecessary lifting and repositioning steps, saving time and improving efficiency on site.

The Porta Gantry and Porta Gantry Pneumatic can be specified with rotational lock castors, allowing operators to walk the gantry and its load to the next desired position with ease. By locking the swivel head while allowing the wheel to rotate, the gantry can travel in a controlled direction while remaining under load. To further improve movement, channel guides can be used in conjunction with a Porta Gantry, across predetermined routes and move challenging terrain.

In many applications, lifting is only part of the task; equipment often needs to be transferred from one location to another, positioned over multiple work areas or moved through a site without repeated lifting operations. Being able to move under load streamlines these activities, reducing downtime and increasing productivity.

In trenching, shoring and excavation applications, lifting a load out of the ground is often only the first step. When trenches and/or pits are too wide to simply lift and lower vertically, the ability to traverse a load across the gantry beam becomes a major operational advantage.

All Reid gantries allow operators to move loads smoothly across the beam, making it easier to lift, relocate and position materials safely without repositioning the entire gantry. This can significantly reduce the lifting time and improve efficiency, particularly on sites where access is restricted or the landing area sits away from the lift point. Reid also offers shackled cheek plates and gear-driven trolleys to provide greater control and reduce operator effort when traversing across the beam. These accessories allow operators to remain outside the gantry footprint during movements, helping create a safer lifting operation.
