PortX Tripod

Rapid setup, fewer parts & maximum productivity; spend less time assembling equipment and more time getting the job done.

Tool-free assembly, self-locking legs, and single-pin height adjustment enable rapid deployment with minimal effort. Tethered pins help prevent lost components, while the Reid Universal Bracket allows Winches and SRLs to be fitted using just two pins, simplifying equipment changes and reducing downtime.

At Reid, we’ve worked with aluminium for decades because we know it delivers exceptional performance in the environments our products are designed for.

From water and wastewater applications, where resistance to moisture and chemicals is essential, to demanding construction sites exposed to harsh weather and daily wear, aluminium consistently proves its value. Combining corrosion resistance, durability, and strength with a professional, high-quality finish, aluminium provides a reliable, long-lasting solution that stands up to the toughest conditions while maintaining its appearance over time.

Every site is different, and the ideal setup is not always obvious from the outset; that’s why the Portx Tripod is designed for maximum flexibility and easy reconfiguration in the field.

With three integrated sheaves in the Tripod head, each leg can support either a Winch or an SRL. Reids Universal Bracket system allows equipment to be quickly transferred between legs, enabling multiple configurations to suit changing site conditions and access requirements.

The result is a versatile system that can be rapidly adapted to the task at hand, helping operators work more efficiently, maintain safe working practices, and maximise productivity.

Reid understands that tripods are primarily used for personnel lifting, lowering, rescue, and fall protection applications. However, many confined space operations also require tools, equipment, and materials to be safely raised or lowered into the work area.

Traditionally, this requires the addition of a chain hoist and a separate attachment point fitted to the tripod. With many tripod systems on the market, this can introduce extra components, increase setup time, and create the risk of lost parts or incorrect assembly.

To eliminate these challenges, the Reid PortX Tripod features integrated lifting points built directly into the tripod head. This enables users to attach a conventional chain hoist with a lifting capacity of up to 500kg without the need for additional brackets or accessories.

With three dedicated lifting positions available, operators can quickly configure the tripod to suit the task at hand.

Tripods are used in a wide range of confined space entry, rescue, fall protection, and light lifting applications. Their versatility often means they must be regularly moved from storage areas, service vehicles, or site compounds to the point of use. As a result, keeping equipment lightweight and easy to handle is critical for improving productivity and reducing operator fatigue.

That’s why the Reid PortX Tripod has been engineered to weigh just 19kg. Its lightweight aluminium construction enables a single operator to easily carry and position the tripod where it is needed, helping to reduce manual handling effort while maintaining the strength and durability required for demanding site conditions.

Tripods are often deployed in confined, or restricted work areas where available headroom can vary significantly. In many situations, it is not possible to set the tripod to its maximum height due to overhead obstructions or limited working space.

To ensure safe and effective operation in these challenging environments, operators need the flexibility to adjust the tripod to suit the available space without compromising performance; that’s why the Reid PortX Tripod features eight height adjustment positions, providing a working height range from 1464mm to 2203 mm. This wide adjustment range enables users to configure the tripod to match the application and environment, ensuring optimal positioning for access, rescue, fall protection, and lifting tasks.
