PortX Davit

The innovative 3-piece design of the PortX Davit significantly reduces the weight of each individual component compared to traditional 2-piece davit systems. By lowering the weight of the parts that need to be transported and assembled, the system is easier and safer to manually handle, improving portability without compromising performance.

The dual rear device mounting configuration allows two devices, such as the PortX Winch and PortX Rescue or a combination of personnel and goods lifting equipment, such as the Plus Winch, to be mounted on the rear of the davit.  The devices are strategically positioned outside the davit’s working footprint to help avoid interference from guardrails, walls, and other site obstacles. This ensures both devices remain easily accessible, enabling operators to work more safely and efficiently while maintaining full control of lifting and rescue operations.

Designed to maximise operational flexibility, the system enables rapid transition between routine personnel lifting and lowering tasks and emergency recovery scenarios without the need for equipment reconfiguration. This helps streamline operations, improve productivity, and reduce downtime, while ensuring personnel can be lifted, lowered, and recovered using a single integrated solution.

The PortX Davit is designed around Reid’s universal 65mm kingpin, allowing the system to rotate a full 360° while carrying a load. Rather than having to repeatedly reposition the davit, operators can smoothly move loads through the required lifting path by simply rotating the system around its socket position. This not only improves control during lifting and lowering operations but also helps maintain safer handling of suspended loads throughout the task.

In confined spaces, around obstacles, or in areas with restricted access, the ability to rotate under load provides greater freedom of movement while helping to minimise manual intervention. This can reduce setup adjustments, improve workflow, and allow lifting operations to be completed more quickly and effectively.

Integrated sheaves at both the front and rear of the beam allow winch cable to be routed efficiently on the PortX Davit, ensuring smooth, controlled lifting and safety operations.

By maintaining correct cable alignment throughout operation, the sheaves help reduce cable wear, minimise the risk of snagging, and support consistent system performance. This not only improves operator control but also enhances the overall reliability of the lifting system in demanding working environments.

The dual-sheave design provides greater flexibility when configuring equipment for personnel lifting, rescue, fall protection, and goods handling applications, enabling operators to carry out a wider range of tasks safely and efficiently with a single davit solution.

Built from lightweight aluminium and finished with a clean anodised coating, the PortX Davit is designed to perform reliably in demanding industrial and outdoor environments. The anodisation process increases resistance to corrosion, wear and everyday damage, helping to protect the system throughout its service life while maintaining a professional, low-maintenance finish.
