TDavit Variable Winch

The TDavit Variable Winch features an adjustable beam that can be extended or retracted through simple manual operation, enabling operators to adapt the system’s outreach to suit changing site conditions and lifting requirements. Unlike fixed-reach lifting solutions, the beam can be adjusted while under load, providing 726mm to 1526mm of horizontal movement depending on the configuration selected.

This unique capability allows loads to be positioned with greater precision without repositioning the entire davit system, helping to improve efficiency and reduce manual handling. Whether working around obstacles, reaching into confined spaces, or adjusting load placement during a lift, operators can easily alter the outreach to suit the task. For added safety and stability, the beam can also be securely locked in position during lifting operations when a fixed working radius is required.

This makes the TDavit Variable Winch particularly effective in applications where obstacles restrict the movement or rotation of the load, in areas such as water treatment kiosks, chambers, and other infrastructure assets. Operators can rotate the system into position with the beam fully retracted, extend the beam to reach the load, then retract and rotate the load back out of the restricted area. The result is a safer, more efficient lifting process with fewer setup adjustments and improved control throughout the operation.

The TDavit Variable Winch is designed around Reid’s universal 65mm kingpin, allowing the system to rotate a full 360° while carrying a load. Rather than having to repeatedly reposition the davit, operators can smoothly move loads through the required lifting path by simply rotating the system around its socket position. This not only improves control during lifting and lowering operations but also helps maintain safer handling of suspended loads throughout the task.

Combined with a variable beam length that can be adjusted manually while under load, the system enables operators to extend or retract the load position, reducing the overall footprint of the TDavit, whilst rotating.

In confined spaces, around obstacles, or in areas with restricted access, the ability to rotate under load provides greater freedom of movement while helping to minimise manual intervention. This can reduce setup adjustments, improve workflow, and allow lifting operations to be completed more quickly and effectively.

The TDavit Variable Winch is compatible with a wide range of winches including Reids Plus Winch, as well as selected third-party devices.
